When You Love God Keep His Commandments

It says in John 14: 5 "If ye love me, keep my commandments." one of the ways you can show God your love is to keep his commandments. Why do you think God wants us to keep his commandments? He asked us to follow them because he loves us. he wants us to be able to live with him and his son after this life. The only way we can do that is to do what he has asked and that is to keep his commandments. Alma says in Alma 11: 37 "And I say unto you again that he cannot save them in their sins; for I cannot deny his word, and he hath said that no unclean thing can inherit the kingdom of heaven; therefore, how can ye be saved, except ye inherit the kingdom of heaven? Therefore, ye cannot be saved in your sins.". The only way you can be saved is to do just as he askeds "If ye love me, keep my commandments.". We need to strive to always be clean. I know that that is the way we can live with God and his son for ever.

There is more to Being some one then Doing some thing

To Do and to Be work together, but to do is one thing and to be is a better thing. Elder Lynn G. Robbins of the Seventy said "The Savior often denounced those who did without being—calling them hypocrites: “This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me” (Mark 7:6). To do without to be is hypocrisy, or feigning to be what one is not—a pretender." So, just as they say, don't just do good things, be a good thing. When you become a good thing you are becoming more Christ like. So as you go through life don't just be close to Christ with your lips but be close to him with your heart. What are some of the ways you can come closer to Christ with your heart? The best place to start is to come up to him through baptism with the proper power and authority, or, in other words, by some one holding the priesthood of God.

What is the priesthood? It is the authority to act in God's name.

We learn about this from Matthew3:13-15, "13Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be ^abaptized of him.14But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?15And Jesus answering said unto him, ^aSuffer it to be so now: for thus it ^bbecometh us to ^cfulfil all ^drighteousness. Then he suffered him." Why did Jesus come John? He came to John because he was the only one that had the priesthood of God and had the authority to baptise men. We all need to follow Christ's example and be baptised by some one holding the priesthood so that we can be clean from all of our sins and get the gift of the Holy Ghost so that we can be led by the Hold Ghost and be a better person. When we do this we can become a better person and not just do good things.

What do I want to be?

What do I want to be? or better yet, Who am I? now I'm going to ask you to do some thinking. So who am i? I am (state your name)? My parents are? I work at? My address is? Now that you thought of that you still have not answered, who am I? So who am I? I am a son or daughter of God our loving heavenly father. When I think of it that way there is so much more to it. Now I think if i am that, a son or daughter of God, and he loves me then what does he want me to do. All he ever asks of us is to live the commandments that he has given us so that we can be good boys and girls and come and live with him again. I know that it can be hard to live the commandments some times but if you look in to the Scriptures you can see that we can do it but some times we just have to stretch ourselves some times but 1 Nephi 3:7 says "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I ^awill go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no ^bcommandments unto the children of men, save he shall ^cprepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." I love that Scripture so much because it shows that sometimes it might be hard but the lord will prepare a way for us to accomplish the things that he commands us to do. When things seem like they are hard to do or it is hard to be a good boy or girl just remember that the Lord will help you and just say a prayer and ask for help. I can say you will be able to over come anything. Always remember that the Lord will bless you for doing what is right. You will not be eternally disadvantaged for doing what is right.

Life Has Just Begun

This Line from a song by Catch 22 I like because there is so much truth in it.

"I've got myself I've got my friends I've got my little family but that's not where it ends this one goes out to you it goes out to everyone it's in the name of honesty because life has just begun"

When you look at the line life has just begun its so true you may have yourself , your freinds, and your little family but there is more to life but that is a great start and that is part of what you need to make this life meaningful but there is one vital thing you are missing and that is to find the gospel of Jesus Christ. When you find that you will be able to grow closer as a family you will find a better relationship with your freinds and you will be able to know the answers to "Where did I come from?", "Why am I here?", and "Where am I going?". When you know the answer to those 3 questions you will be able to make decisions to things that will bless your life and your family's life more than you will ever know. I know that if you will learn about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints then you will be able to know the answer to those 3 questions. I know that your life will be more blessed then you ever thought it could be and that when you come unto Christ you will be able to bless the lives of the people around you in so many ways. I ask you to learn and pray about his church that is on the earth today so that you can know for yourself if it is true.  

Boundary's in Life

The commandments that the Lord has set for us in the scriptures and by modern day Prophets are there to keep us safe and to help us go farther then we could if we didnt follow them. You see my friend in the picture to the right. He is happy and he is on a mountain were he can see the beauty that the Lord has given us. But the most inportant thing is he is in side the boundarys on the mountain and he is safe. He is safe because he is in an area were the ski patrol has looked over and said it is safe to be there because they found the the snow is safe and it wont slide. They have also found that there are no rocks that are just under the snow or any small trees or stumps that could hook his board and cause him harm. But there is more to that he is also able to go off jumps that were made by some one that knows what they are doing. So that when he goes off of them he can shoot in to the air right and when he lands he will have a safe landing. So when he goes off the things that have been made right and and safe he can learn to do new tricks and learn how he can go farther and learn new things the right way. When you look at the commandments they are there so that you can be safe and learn new things that will make you go farther and learn new things in the right way. But when you break the commandments that is when you get hurt because you have gone off the path that was made safe for you.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

So have you ever thought about the Scripture (Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.) to me there is a lot of meaning there. So i made me think of (Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.) these scriptures a very simple and at the same time have so much meaning. If god is always going to be the same then his church that is on the earth to day will always be the same. So God will have a Prophet to lead and guide his church and he will have 12 apostles here on the earth to day. So by me studying the word of God it helps me know that The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints it the true church on the earth. It shows to me that God still speaks to us to day through is prophets. I Know that he loves us and that he wants us to come and live with agen some day. I know that you can come to the same under standing as i have if you will pray to God in the name of his some Jesus Christ and ask him if he has a propher on the earth to day that leads and giuds his church.That is a promis give by God in (Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:) and also so many other times in the Scripturs.

The Lord Answers Prayers

I learned that the lord will answer prayers in many different ways and you never know in what way or at what time. I got a call from a lady and her cat was really sick and it was at the vets and the vet told her that he didnt know if it would pull through. She was having a hard time with this because when here husband was at work the cat was what gave her companie so she had come to love it very much. So she had asked us to pray for her cat to make it. She said if he cat pulls through she would come to church. So we were a little sceptic of this but we had faith that the lord would answer are prayer and help this lady come and see the path that she needs to be on. She we ask the Lord to help her out and later that day we got a call from the lady and she said that the cat had made it and was doing well. She also told us she would see us at church tomarrow. When we got to church she was there and she told us that when she was on her way there that she felt like this was were she needed to be. So i have learned that the Lord will answer everyones know matter what is going on in there lives. He loves his children and he wants to help them in every way he can to make it back to live with him agen some day.
